Diesel (diesel) and petrol egr symptoms

Egr valve defects may seem in different ways:

The EGR flap can be blocked Closed or on Openproducing carbon particles deposits. Both situations can lead to serious damage to the engine, satisfying the symptoms below:

• The heavy engine begins
• Black smoke and soot in acceleration
• Motor ticks during acceleration
• It can reduce the torque and implicitly the power of the engine
• Fluctuations in the ranks
• Increases the level of nitric oxide in exhaust gases
• Activate the emergency operational program
• The «motor control» engine control lamp lights up
• Black smoke on the exhaust
• Increases fuel consumption

In addition to carbon deposits in the EGR valves, there are also causes of bankruptcy such as:

• Power lines or defective contacts of the connector
• Cracks or broken gaskets on the external recycling line of the exhaust gases (EGR tube)
• Oil leaks in the head of the head or turbocharger, the oil steam produced during combustion can clog the valve
• The crack empty pipe systems lead to an incorrect opening of the valve
• Broken table meal
• A defective pressure transducer
• A thermal valve that works incorrectly
• Mers perdominant Urban, in special diesel
• Standing
• Incomplete fury in the combustion chamber (low quality fuel, dirty filters)

Can you go with defective egr?

In the short term, the effects of a defective EGR valve are not feared, but if the defect is so serious that the emergency program is activated, the car must be taken immediately to the service. When the EGR valve is permanently closed, it is no longer allowed to reintroduce the burnt gases in the suction system. The accumulations of carbon particles will influence the entire circuit, in particular the catalyst. When the EGR valve is permanently open (the engine loses performance in the maximum load), the permanent discharge gas supply is questionable. The increase in the recirculation of the exhaust gases over a vehicle in pregnancy can lead to incorrect quantities of injected fuel, in extreme situations the car stops. Under a maximum load in operation, there is incomplete combustion with an excessive soot formation.

EGR signs clogged with diesel engines

The EGR valve is located both in petrol and diesel engines, but most of the problems with the EGR is found in diesel engines, because there are much larger deposits than petrol engines, therefore different particles that obstruct it, the EGR valve that loses the void. Diesel engines have the following signs that lead to a clogged EGR, that is to say:

• A large interval of time until the «warning warning» witness indicates the low temperature (yellow resistance)
• Irregular speeds to the ranks
• At low temperatures an inaccurate operation of the engine occurs
• Lack of life of the helic in walking

When the EGR of a diesel engine has a high degree of deterioration, the following symptoms is felt:

• The smell of pungent fuel
• The engine dies of the ranks
• The «control engine» is on board
• The engine works loudly, with low detonations and speed.

What happens if the EGR is clogged?

The most common cause of blocking the EGR valve is its growing with soot, which occurs during the combustion of the fuel mixture. This clogging occurs frequently in diesel cars. Depending on the position in which it is blocked when it is clogged with soot, several symptoms appear, that is to say:

• Blocked outdoors: the engine attracts most of the exhaust gases, while the amount of air caught decreases
• The electronic motor control unit reduces the amount of fuel injected, lowering the power of the engine
• Some machines indicate this defect (clogged EGR) by turning on the light of the «Motor» engine control
• When the EGR valve accumulates excess carbon deposits, the temperatures in the cylinders and the suction circuit remain very high, the operating parameters of the engine will be disturbed and the consumption and the nitrogen dioxide emissions will reach exaggerated values.

Going with a clogged egr (full of soot), the particle filter will also be clogged, whose replacement is expensive, possibly and the catalyst, and subsequently the turbocharger can be damaged, whose remediation is expensive.

Dirty Egr symptoms

A dirty EGR valve does not allow the exhaust gases to return to the burning room at the levels and times corresponding to the operation. It no longer satisfies its attribution to maintain low combustion temperatures and prevention of nitrogen oxides, monoxide and carbon dioxide, gases harmful to both human health and the environment in general. The operation with a dirty EGR valve leads to even larger accumulations, which over time produces clogging and blocking, with the symptoms already presented. The symptoms of a dirty EGR are as follows:

• The aviratura is no longer as sensitive as until then
• Once and heated the engine has moments when energy is lost
• Witness on board «Controllas engine»
• The smoke removed on the exhaust is white

These symptoms can be confused with the defect of the turbine, which is why it is preferable to periodically call (after about 50,000 km) in a specialized service, which can clean the entire valve with chemicals or through the decarbonisation process, the car that returns to previous performance.

Many drivers ask their following question:

If the EGR is clogged, do I have a higher consumption?

When the EGR is not clean over time, the flap suddenly acts, suddenly, it does not work gradually, the engine not only loses some horses, but also increases the fuel consumption in the crowded urban regime, to the predominant use of speed 1 and 2. When the EGR valve accumulates excess carbon deposits, the temperatures in the cylinders and the suction circuit remain very high, the operating parameters will be disturbed. And consumption will increase.

What happens if I receive the Jack from EGR?

First of all, two witnesses will appear on board: «Check engine» and «Notice». Once the jack is removed, the ECU electronic system will detect the lack of EGR valve and change the flow of diesel injected in some operational regimes, increasing the consumption of fuel and oil. The work cycle of the EGR is mainly monitored by the electrical circuit and secondly by the variations of the information provided by the MAF (the decimeter of the air), to different orders of the valve (in Rati, the open EGR must reduce the amount of air and vice versa). The EGR is a piece that, if blocked, increases the level of pollutants, which is dangerous for the environment and for humans, because gas emissions are carcinogenic.

In civil states, the elimination of the EGR valve is illegal and can lead to very serious penalties (from the seizure of the car, to the cancellation of the license and to the expensive fines), because it increases the level of gas emissions in the atmosphere.
