The clutch is an essential component in the transfer of force to move the car to the wheel, it is also a complex and expensive if damaged component.

How is the way the clutch operation is better known?

Through this article we want to inform you about how to manage the clutch, prevent defects and the easiest way of diagnosis. So as not to be fooled when you go to a servant to replace it.

Role:

The clutch is part of the chain of transmission of the engine movement to the car wheels which has an essential role in changing the gears in the case of manual changes. In this context it has two main functions:

• stop the transmission of the movement from the engine to the gearbox;
• Progressive motor pairing on the gearbox.

Composition:

Generally the clutch consists of (Figure 1):

1. a leader part (consisting of parts that are permanent in connection with the engine) composed of flywheel (with simple or double mass), pressure plate AND Pressure plate housing;
2. a guided part (permanently consolidated with the primary gearbox tree) composed of clutch disc;
3. The implementation mechanism (the parties that transmit the command of the clutch actor) composed of pressure pad AND Fork discerning (mechanically or hydraulic act).

Diagnosis:

• • When is a debt of the clutch correctly? To discover the answer to this question, it is completely discussed (with the rank engine) and wait 3 seconds after which is introduced into the marginal speed. The introduction must be made without coupling noises. It must be said that if it is immediately introduced in the speed of marriage it is normal to appear coupling noises.

Recommendations to avoid premature wear.

1. As far as possible, the sloping clutch slopes will be avoided and in a small march;
2. It does not circulate with the foot forgotten on the clutch pedal;
3. Avoid leaving the place in the gear too high or with too high speed (premature wear);
4. When climbing a ramp it will not be maintained in skating;
5. The travel speed is not adjusted by keeping the skating of the clutch;
6. Avoid brakes with violent engines;
7. Traffic will be avoided with the overload vehicle and the trailer of large trailers;
8. The departures «with crunch» will be avoided as much as possible, especially repeated and the departures in extreme ramps;
9. It must be said that frequent parking negatively influence the life of the clutch, but this does not depend on us most of the time.

Rules to be respected when replace the clutch

1. To the debt system:

   • Pretensioning for misleading leverage must be taken into consideration for debt systems without projection;
   • compliance with the debt race in accordance with the provisions of textbooks;
   • In conventional debris systems it must be respected that the clutch game is between 2-3 mm

2. Pressure pad:

   • The resting points will be checked for the debt fork;
   • The plants must move easily on the guide column and the guide column must be directed exactly towards the center of the flywheel;
   • The be bearings with plastic sliding bushes will not be lubricated;

3. Clutch disc:

   • Check the side beat before installation (it must not exceed 0.5 mm)
   • lubricate the grooves in the hub of the disc with a specially intended lubricant;
   • Elimination of excess fat from the transmission tree after inserting the disc and moving back and forth on the tree;
   • hitting the clutch disc before fixing the pressure plate;

4. Pressure plate:

   • With a fixed position, no changes are made (the rule does not apply to double discs and helical springs)

Steering wheel:

• The centering must be perfect;
• To avoid deformations or breakage, the tightening of the screws is performed according to the instructions in the manual (for example: tighten the cross with the hand followed by the estate in 3 steps to the recommended couples and in the end of the tightening the recommended torque)
