The 2.0 -0 –liter atmospheric petrol engines are a rather inventive group, but they are not the most problematic; Many engines in the same family, but with a larger volume (for example 2,3-2.5 liters) are much more capricious.
1st place. Subaru
The most reliable engine of the EJ20 series, known since the late 90s, is still used on the Japanese market. In Europe, the era ended in 2001, when it was replaced with an FB series, with a transmission of the distribution chain instead of the belt. Among the last mainstream Subaru, Forester and third generation Impreza are equipped with the EJ20 engine. This engine reaches a mileage of 250,000 km. The quality of the parts is as high as that of the 1 AZ Toyota and, moreover, EJ20 also has another resource. This is the only engine with at least one large factory size, a rarity for engines since 2000.

The BMW engines in the N43, N45 and N46 series belong to the same family, although they are different from the structure. In many respects, the development of engines with natural aspiration depends on respect for environmental standards.
